The filter carousel locks during recording so what you see in the preview is exactly what lands in the saved file. Stop or finish the take, change the filter, then record again.

Allow camera and microphone access for rolltok.live in your browser settings, then reload the upload screen. If you picked a clip from your gallery first, the camera is released on purpose — reopen the camera tab to record again.

Zoom does: 1x–3x is baked into the recorded frames. The rule-of-thirds grid is a framing guide only and is never recorded.

When you record in multiple takes, Rolltok joins those segments into a single playable file. After joining, the clip is probed to confirm it has a valid duration and can play from start to finish.

No. You can still post it, but playback may be uneven on some devices. The safest fix is to retake in fewer, longer segments. There's also a short feedback box on that screen — tell us what you did while recording and it goes straight to the team.

Standard is the best balance for mobile data. Higher settings raise resolution and bitrate, which means sharper video but a bigger file and a slower upload on weak networks. The chosen quality is confirmed on the upload screen before you post.

Browsers differ in which video formats their recorder produces. When a browser reports a high failure rate, it shows up in the admin recorder summary so we can adjust the export settings for it.

Uploads are resumable. If the network drops, the upload retries automatically with a short backoff and continues from the last completed chunk instead of restarting.

Clips are up to 60 seconds. Episodes are separate long-form posts and are limited to ten uploads per day per creator.

Yes — the error toast has a one-tap retry that reuses the clip you already recorded, along with your caption and cover frame.

Every upload is scanned before it goes public. If something needs a human look, the clip is held for review and hidden from the For You feed until it's approved. You'll see its status on the post, and you can request a human review from there.
